Electrification Technology with Real-World Reliability
The ZE490 electric excavator has been specifically adapted for maritime operations, as it will be working aboard one of Seaworks’ vessels. The machine can also be configured for land-based applications and customized to meet specific project needs. The machine at Seaworks operates only on cable with a recommended battery supply of 300A.
Nasta and Hitachi have worked closely to adapt existing technology to the challenging Norwegian conditions. The emission-free excavators are developed with Nordic weather conditions in mind, and their robust design ensures reliability even during demanding operations. This makes them ideal for construction projects across the country, from urban areas to more challenging terrain, such as aboard a boat.
Electric Construction Machinery: Smarter Costs, Cleaner Future
In addition to the direct environmental benefits, Nasta and Hitachi have also focused on life cycle costs and operating efficiency. By investing in large electric excavators, companies can experience lower operating costs in the long term, while meeting increasingly stringent environmental regulations.
This innovative approach to the construction equipment electrification demonstrates how Nasta and Hitachi are taking responsibility for the environment while meeting the needs of a modern and sustainable society. Their emission-free excavators represent an important step towards a more environmentally friendly future for the construction sector in Norway.
Electric Construction Equipment Gaining Interest in Norway
In Norway, there has been a growing interest in sustainable solutions within the construction industry, especially when it comes to large excavators. Hitachi has already introduced a number of electric giants, but so far there are not many of them in Norway.
Electric construction machinery from Nasta and Hitachi are powered by advanced electric technology, which eliminates the need for traditional fuel sources. This not only helps reduce the carbon footprint but also provides other benefits such as lower noise and vibration levels, which is positive for both workers and the local environment.
