Scaling Electric Piling Rigs from PMx2e to PMx4e

Large piling rigs demand high continuous power, predictable operation, and long daily uptime. Electrifying such a machine cannot reduce performance, reliability, or productivity on site. At the same time, the solution must adapt to different job sites, charging availability, and operating patterns — and remain scalable other machine types as well.

The challenge was to scale an existing electric platform from PMx2e to PMx4e without increasing system complexity or integration risk.

Solution: Modular High-Voltage Architecture Designed for Growth

The PMx4e builds on the proven PMx2e electrification architecture. The diesel engine was replaced with a high-power electric drivetrain, supported by modular battery packs replacing of the traditional counterweight. The energy system was designed around detachable batteries, enabling battery swapping during the workday and flexible charging strategies depending on site conditions.

Result: Scaled Electrification Without Added Complexity

PMx4e delivers zero local emissions, reduced noise, and diesel-level performance in demanding piling applications. By scaling the proven PMx2e electrification architecture, the platform supports higher power, and energy capacity, and flexible charging without adding integration complexity.

The result is a predictable, scalable electric piling rig ready for both current projects and future platform development.
