Electric Powertrain System Design and Engineering for Machinery OEMs

An electric or hybrid powertrain takes shape alongside the rest of the machine. We work with your mechanical, hydraulic and electrical teams to turn the architecture into component selections, schematics, harness designs and thermal management.

The scope can cover a specific design task or the complete powertrain, with installation, operation and service access considered together.

What We Deliver

Powertrain component selection

Motors, inverters, batteries and chargers are chosen from the machine’s duty cycle, not from a single supplier’s catalogue.

High voltage system design

We use field-proven practices in the system architecture and protection design.

Schematics design

The documentation we provide is ready for series production.

Wire harness design

Correct wire and connector selections are key elements to guarantee long lifetime in challenging environments.

Nailboard and 3D CAD

Our documentation is fine-tuned with multiple manufacturers to get the harness right the first time.

3D routing to the chassis helps avoid wrong lengths and EMC issues between logic level signals and HV.

Thermal management design

We have long-term knowledge of the actual losses components produce in different duty cycles.

We select only reliable and cost-efficient cooling components.

Around 80% of the control software comes from field-proven Hevtec functions, so project work can focus on how this particular machine should behave.

Ready-Made Control Software

A ready-made, modular control architecture forms the foundation of our electric powertrain software. Proven in 70+ operating machines, it enables faster integration, lower risk and efficient adaptation to new machine programs.

Electrical Engineering

We support our customers in designing for safety, compliance and reliability. Alongside high-voltage schematics and 3D wire harness and cable routing, we engineer logic level schematics and document the wire harnesses so they are easy to reproduce. This keeps implementation fast, regardless of complexity.

Functional safety is part of the same work. Safety functions are defined in the system architecture from the start, led by our CTO Heikki Hakala, a TÜV SÜD certified Functional Safety Professional.

Precision Powertrain Engineering

Our experience in mobile work machine applications allows us to anticipate integration challenges early and keep projects on schedule.

“Staying on schedule is also influenced by component expertise, understanding how they work and what challenges they may present.

"This allows us to anticipate issues and account for every detail in advance.”

What we delivered?

Independent by Design

We are not tied to any supplier. Components are chosen for their fit with the machine, based on duty cycle data from Solution Assessment and over 19 years of electrifying mobile work machines.

It starts with the powertrain architecture: how energy is stored, distributed, converted and delivered to the machine’s traction and work functions. System integration then brings the components together into one working machine.

Backed by a Global Network of Proven Suppliers

We work independently of brands, but not alone. A trusted network of proven component manufacturers adds technical, economic and sustainability value to every project.
