The Result

The Nasta Zeron ZE350 is an emission-free, grid electric powered excavator, based on the Hitachi ZX350 models. It has an operating weight of 38 tons and has a peak power of 210 kW.

The ZE350 was one of the first emission-free machines to be launched in Norway. The machine is connected to the grid through a dedicated power supply container. The power supply is constantly supervised by a residual-current-device (RCD) to ensure safe operation. Grid power is converted to a high voltage DC-link on the machine with an inverter and hence the machine operation is similar to any battery driven machine from there on out.

The supply container makes sure the machine power cord keeps tight and does not roll under the machine.
